I was emotionally spent after turning the last page of this very well written real life love story spanning two decades. Its realistically flawed characters and insightful (and often familiar) journey into the dynamics of imperfect relationships were a literary smack across my face to remind me to stop taking days for granted and protecting myself from threats that aren’t nearly as scary as the regrets they create. Just added all of Mr. Nicholls’ other books to my TBR list!
